Marnie Schaefer joined Serein Family Law in 2022 and is a Senior Associate of the firm.
Marnie was admitted to practise in February 2017 after completing a Bachelor of Laws and Post Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice, and having also acquired many years of experience as a Paralegal to complement her studies.
Marnie is now an accomplished family lawyer, having worked in prominent boutique family law firms in Melbourne for many years. She practises in all areas of family law, including parenting matters, complex property matters, binding financial agreements, spousal maintenance, child support and family violence.
Working closely with clients to understand their needs and guide them through what can often be an emotional process, Marnie prides herself on having a pragmatic and resolution-based attitude, whilst also advocating passionately for clients in the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia and at Dispute Resolution events.
Marnie sits on the Law Institute of Victoria’s Courts Practice Committee and contributes to the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia Parenting Working Group. She is a member of the Family Law Sections of the Law Institute of Victoria and Law Council of Australia.
